We seek amendments to the existing mediclaim insurance policies where an increase in the yearly premium demands a corresponding increase in the Sum Assured (SA). This change must apply by default, particularly for no claim policyholders as they age. In the current system, the rise in premium places financial burdens on policyholders without any additional benefits. Furthermore, we urge to make these policies GST free. This essential healthcare provision should be accessible to everyone without any financial constraints. According to recent studies in economic policy, tax-free healthcare services could improve accessibility for a vast number of people. We implore the authorities to look deeply into these issues to bolster healthcare security in our society.
