Each day, I, along with many other residents, navigate our vehicles along Stanton Avenue. Among us are the senior citizens living in the Golda Meir facility who also rely on this route for their daily transportation. The potholes on this road have become a destructively prevalent issue, posing potential hazards and damaging vehicles.

According to the American Automobile Association, damage from potholes costs U.S. drivers $3 billion a year (AAA, 2016). Not only do these road conditions impact our wallets, but they also risk our safety. The US Department of Transportation reports that poor roadway conditions contribute to more than a third of all traffic fatalities (US DOT, 2015).

We appeal to the local council to prioritize and execute immediate reparations of Stanton Avenue. This is not merely a matter of convenience but one of public safety and financial prudence.
