This issue resonates deeply, both with me and countless others. Every 68 seconds in America there is a sexual assault. As survivors of sexual assault, identifying and receiving justice for perpetrators is an element we hold dear. I, along with millions of women globally have encountered some form of sexual abuse, making this not just a personal mission, but a universal one. Our goal is to insist that Donald J. Trump be registered as a sex offender for life. The recent victory of E. Jean Carroll in her sexual abuse lawsuit against Trump is a promising start, but more can be done. In the United States alone, over 433,648 victims (age 12 or older) are victims of rape and sexual assault each year (source: RAINN) and the offenders must be held accountable, regardless of their public status. By doing this, we send a strong message: That no matter one's influence, power, or fame, a perpetrator of sexual assault can and will face the consequences of their actions.
