Mandate Education on Narcissistic and Gaslighting Behaviour in All Schools

Mandate Education on Narcissistic and Gaslighting Behaviour in All Schools
The Issue
Narcissistic and gaslighting behaviours are forms of emotional abuse that can have severe psychological effects on victims. Despite this, many people, particularly young students, remain unaware of these harmful behaviours due to a lack of education on the subject. This petition seeks to mandate all schools to teach and raise awareness about narcissistic and gaslighting behaviour.
According to a study published in the Journal of Emotional Abuse, approximately 1 in 7 people may be a victim of gaslighting (Journal of Emotional Abuse, 2008). Furthermore, research from the National Institute for Health suggests that up to 6% of the population could have narcissistic personality disorder (National Institute for Health, 2019). These figures indicate that it is likely many students will encounter these behaviours either personally or through their peers.
By incorporating education about these issues into school curriculums nationwide, we can equip our youth with knowledge and tools needed to identify such abusive behaviour. This will empower them either to end the abuse or seek help sooner rather than later.
We urge lawmakers and educational authorities alike to take immediate action towards this pressing issue. Sign this petition today if you believe in creating safer environments for our children through education.
