Our beloved family cat, Simba, was tragically killed by a car and left on the road. Current laws require cats to be microchipped, but there is no obligation for drivers to report hitting a cat. This leaves many families in distress, not knowing what happened to their pets. We propose that drivers should be required to stop and report if they hit a cat so that authorities can use chip readers to notify the owners promptly.
