Mandate Disclosure of Material Details on Labels for fast fashion and Second-Hand Clothes

Mandate Disclosure of Material Details on Labels for fast fashion and Second-Hand Clothes
The Issue
As someone deeply concerned about the precarious state of our environment, I am calling for transparency and responsibility for preserving our world. Our planet is on the precipice of environmental collapse due to human activities. One of the key culprits is the fashion industry, especially the fast fashion sector, which serves as one of the primary polluters to our Earth. If our aim is sustainability, we need to be equipped with the right information.
Nowadays, most clothing is made from plastic. Unbeknownst to many, washing these plastics-laden clothes releases microplastics into the environment, which eventually end up inside humans and other living organisms. This is an issue we can tackle with knowledge and choices - but we need transparency about what we're choosing in our clothing.
A possible solution lies in using natural fibres instead. However, to make informed decisions, consumers need to be aware of the material content of the clothes they purchase. It is therefore essential to advocate for a law that makes it obligatory for labels, including those on second-hand clothes, to display detailed information about their material composition.
Let's demand transparency and sustainability in our fashion choices. Let's make conscious consumerism not just a possibility, but a norm! Sign this petition to support mandating the disclosure of material details on all clothing labels!
