As a deeply concerned citizen, I am moved by the plight of the Palestinian people who are in desperate need of our help. The situation has become personal to me as I witness their struggle for food, water, safety and warmth, basic human rights. 

On March 18th, the New Democratic Party (NDP) put forth a motion that could potentially alleviate some of these issues. However, this motion has yet to be implemented by our government.

The NDP's motion calls for immediate action and support towards Palestine which includes an increase in humanitarian aid and a push for ceasefire agreements. It also advocates for reinstating UNRWA funding which is crucial in providing education, healthcare and social services to millions of registered Palestinian refugees (UNRWA). Furthermore, it proposes an arms embargo on Israel until human rights are upheld.

It is imperative that we hold our government accountable for its commitments. The implementation of this motion could greatly improve the lives of countless individuals who are currently suffering.
