The Issue

As a deeply concerned and directly affected customer, I express my dissatisfaction with Bell Canada's lack of initiative in upholding and participating in the IPv6 Internet standard. Unlike its contemporaries like Rogers, Telus, and Shaw, which have embraced the IPv6 standard for almost a decade, Bell continues to fall behind in its technological duties. This standard, now over 12 years old, is integral for the functionality and longevity of our increasingly digitalized society.

The fact that nearly all (50-70%) internet traffic in Canada is already using IPv6, except for Bell traffic, is inexcusable and a disturbance to us customers who are left in the cold. On top of this, services such as Xbox and Netflix have announced their plans to transition exclusively to IPv6 within the next few years. This move will leave Bell customers unable to access their favorite entertainment platforms if no action is taken in due course.

Bell's reluctance to conform to these inevitable technological advancements is not just a disservice to their consumers but a hindrance to the progress of online infrastructure in Canada. It is therefore high time they commit to supporting and enabling the Native IPv6 protocols on their landline/fiber network.

We call upon Bell Canada to catch up with its competitors and meet the needs of its customers. Acknowledge and act upon the changing times - enable and support Native IPv6 on your networks now!

Let's urge Bell Canada to adapt for the future and respect the rights of its users. Please sign this petition.
