Mandate Badge Replacement Policies in Boy's Brigade Malaysia

The Issue

My name is a proud yet disheartened former member of Boy's Brigade Malaysia. With a heavy heart, I share that my Junior and Senior section badges and uniform were stolen when I moved houses. These pieces, emblematic of my dedication and service, included the President’s and Founder’s badges and NCO star. Frustratingly, I have no avenue to have them replaced. I fervently dedicated 9 years of my life, shedding blood, sweat, and tears, and now I have no badges to show for my efforts.

Regrettably, this lack of a replacement policy appears to be an overlooked area within Boy's Brigade Malaysia. It falls short in recognizing the importance of these badges to its members. They are reflective of our hard work, perseverance and dedication. Yet, there seems to be an assumption that these precious accolades cannot be lost or stolen.

This is a call-out to Boy's Brigade Malaysia to acknowledge this issue and establish a system to replace any nationally-controlled badges, which include the Founder’s Badge, President’s Badge, Non-Commisioned Officer Badge, Junior Section Gold Award, and the Robert Davis Award.

These badges, however trivial they might seem to some, are important symbols that encapsulate the individual journeys of thousands of hardworking boys across the country. Losing such badges should not mean an end to the proud display of a boy's commitment and achievement.

In making this petition, my aim is not just to replace my own badges but to ensure that anyone who arrives at this unfortunate juncture in the future (and there are many) will not face the same difficulties. Such a policy implementation would be a testament to Boy’s Brigade Malaysia’s commitment to its members and their journeys of personal growth and character development.

Join me in making this request, let us urge Boy’s Brigade Malaysia to introduce a replacement policy for these significant badges. Sign this petition.
