As residents of the Timberbrook Community in Justin, Texas, we are deeply troubled by the noise pollution caused by trains traveling northbound and southbound at all hours of the day and night. The constant blaring of train horns deprives us of sleep and our well-earned peace. The issue is not merely disrupting our everyday lives, but also impacting our health and wellbeing. According to the World Health Organization, noise pollution is linked to adverse health effects, including sleep disturbance, cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment, and stress-related mental health risks. Noise pollution caused by trains also diminishes our quality of life, as we're unable to comfortably enjoy our homes – places where peace should be a given, not a luxury.

We are calling upon the responsible authorities to enact immediate changes by designating the Timberbrook Community as a quiet zone for passing trains. In the quiet zones, according to Federal Railroad Administration, trains are prohibited from sounding their horns, thereby significantly reducing noise pollution.
