Manatee County Residents to Reinstate the Ban on Pet Retail Sales

The Issue

We want to bring back the ban on retail pet stores selling puppies in Manatee County Florida.  We are assured that the puppies are coming from pet brokers that acquire them from puppy mills across many states. The cruelty bestowed on the parents of the puppies, as well as the health of these puppies are reason enough to stop this from being a reality in our community.  We also oppose the predatory credit practices the pet stores use to make sales. We would like our local commissioners to bring back a revote on the ban, especially since there are new commissioners on the board.  We ask that  no pet stores be grandfathered in and allow the cruelty of the mills to continue.
