You need to be shut down!

The Issue

Manatee County Animal Services puts animals to sleep left and right for reasons like being "Fearful" and having illnesses! They also claim to be working hard towards being a 'no kill' shelter.

They made the decision to put a dog named Razor down for testing positive for ringworm. First and foremost, ringworm treatment is roughly $8.00, while euthanasia costs anywhere from $50 up to $400 dollars (including disposal of the body). Secondly, the 'facility' where these animals are housed had empty cages, so saying they had no space is NOT an excuse!

Razor was so generously adopted into a foster, and has been described as 'gentle and calm' by his foster parents. When taken to the vet after being saved from this 'facility,' he TESTED NEGATIVE FOR RINGWORM. Not only is it disgusting that they would kill an animal for having a fungal infection, but they can't even successfuly complete a simple test that shows if the animals have ringworm or not.

There is also the sickening story of Buck and Bill. There was a petition made here on change.org for them previously, that you can read here: http://www.change.org/petitions/manatee-county-board-of-commissioners-county-attorneys-minix-and-palmer-release-hero-dogs-buck-bill-back-to-their-owner

Needless to say, nothing came of this petition. These beautiful dogs spent the rest of their days in filthy kennels with their own waste, sustaining injuries from excessive neglect, and then ultimately put to sleep.

We cannot let this injustice continue any longer!
