As you know, due to the world's biggest crisis of the outbreak on COVID-19, we, students are attending online classes from home. The objective of this petition is to stop teaching through the online classes and extend the MBBS academic calendar. I understand that we don't have another choice but this is the first time teachers and students have been exposed to taking online classes, therefore, students are facing many problems such as:

• Students face problems with their internet connection. Some students don’t have the proper devices to use for online classes.
• We are unable to grasp the lecture as there are a lot of technical concepts that cannot be taught online. Some topics or subjects require face to face teaching (not Zoom classes) to make it more effective so that students can understand better. Zoom is not effective as face to face session.
• For practical sessions, we need hands on experience and we cannot learn online through videos or YouTube links. These video links are not useful and we cannot do any hands on experiments. As for the clinical year students, clinical cases are difficult to understand through the online platform.
• Many students lack the motivation to do any work at home. Lack of motivation from the students to do their work will cause many grades to go down. Home is not suitable place for Zoom classes.

I hope that AIMST will stop these online classes so that it will not affect our studies and extend our MBBS academic calendar. I suggest that teachers should give more quiz sessions or assignments on previously taught classes to keep students engaged in this period. Students are actually having a rough time in this lockdown. I hope that this helps to understand what we are going through right now.
