We as the tattoo artists of Malta are demanding clarity regarding the authorities' decision to keep our studios closed, as we know that there is no sound plan or study behind this decision.           

It is scientifically absurd to claim that a tattoo studio poses a greater risk towards spreading the covid19 virus than any hair salon,  beauty parlour, restaurant or bar to mention just a few. Firstly it is obvious that the risk is greater in the previously mentioned businesses because of a much greater client rotation than a tattoo studio. Let us not forget that the infection control standards a tattoo artist is examined for and is bound to keep up is second to none. We continuously sterilise our environment and this has always been the case, way before coronavirus. Almost all our tools are disposable and we have always been bound to have good ventilation.

We as tattoo artists and also as citizens of Malta demand that if we are not granted to open our business to date ,the least the authorities owe us is a clear, sound explanation of why we can't proceed with our work, why not make your thorough studies public? So we can at least make peace with the matter...Because we know that this is scientifically and logically incorrect to say the least.
