Stop Malmstrom from poisoning Prairie Dogs

Stop Malmstrom from poisoning Prairie Dogs
The Issue
This is the reality of what poisoning animals does.
24 hours ago- a mother prairie dog brought food for her pups back to their den (their home). She didn’t know that the food she fed to her babies, like she’s done so many times before, were oats soaked in poison. Soon after, she died.
Her pups, and many others came out of their dens looking for their mothers.
I happened to have walked by a den where a little baby was sitting out in the open. She crawled into my hand and curled up close to me.
I contacted a nice ex-vet tech who tried all she could to help reverse the effects of the poison.
I went back to the den and found another sibling but ultimately decided to leave it there. There was blood coming from every orifice of its body. The poison had run it’s course and I didn’t want to make it more uncomfortable than it already was by taking it from it’s home.
I didn’t know that when I found the pups it had been 24 hours since they consumed the poison.
That is 24 hours of a slow painful death, one that resulted in internal bleeding.
Not only does it disrupt the ecosystem to kill off prairie dogs but now whatever eats the prarie dogs (foxes, owls, eagles, hawks, YOUR DOG, CAT) also now has poison in their systems and will die.
Malmstrom left poison out in the form or oats with NO warning or signs. What will happen when (not if) a pet or child sees that while playing and eats it.
Using rodent bait traps is NOT going to be a long term solution.
Malmstrom, PLEASE stop using rodent bait and look into sustainable alternatives such as relocation.
