Dear supporters, On Sunday we joined the massive refugee rights rally in the city. The subject on everyone’s lips was our 10-year-old client who had been medically evacuated from Nauru after the National Justice Project intervened on his behalf. I want to let you know how your support for the National Justice Project is delivering real justice for sick asylum seekers on Nauru and in PNG. Late last year you have us the funds to power our team of human rights lawyers. Since then we have helped many people get medical care but more recently we had to go to court for three different suicidal children aged between the ages of 10 and 14 whose lives had spiralled into despair on Nauru. Even the Government's own doctors agreed that these children could not be cared for on Nauru and were at serious risk of harm. By taking strategic court action we obtained court orders for these children to receive urgently needed medical care in Australia.
