JAPAN LAUNCHES VESSELS TO CONTINUE WHALING - OUR AUSTRALIAN GOVT MUST STOP THEM.
The Issue
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year ruled that Japan's decades-old whale hunt in the Antarctic should stop, but the Japanese Fisheries Agency will now resume whaling in the 2015-2016.
Before the last federal election the Coalition repeatedly promised to send a Customs vessel to monitor whaling in the Southern Ocean. The Australian Government must send a Customs ship to the area to protect the 333 Minke whales these vessels will slaughter.
Japanese assets could potentially be seized belonging to the whaling fleet because there's an Australian Federal Court judgement that has fined these whalers $1 million for killing whales in a whale sanctuary.
Please sign this petition to let our Prime Minister know we expect our government to keep their promise to protect our southern oceans from becoming another killing field.
