We are a group of students from Cammeraygal High School and we need your help! We have a student led project that requires us to choose a problem in our society. We decided we wanted to save the greyhounds! 25,000 greyhounds are born each year, and of these dogs only about half reach naming and training age. This means that thousands of puppies and young dogs are routinely killed each year. Tens of thousands of greyhounds are disposed of by the racing industry in Australia every year, with over 10,000 greyhounds killed annually after they retire from racing. This issue does not only affect greyhounds, but also animals such as possums, piglets, rabbits and kittens who become victims of brutal live baiting.
