Australia needs to adopt one set of Child Protection Laws, that governs the whole nation
The issue
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnball
We the undersigned believe that Australia needs to adopt one set of Child Protection Laws That the whole nation is governed by.
It is ridiculous that once you cross a border everything can change in the blink of an eye.
All these different child protection agencies that do not work or communicate with each other, leaves far too many gaps in the system.
Why not push for The Australian Child Protection System with 3 different support agencies.
1. Australian Foster Carers Association
2. Australian Kinship Carers Association.
3. Australian Alternative Carers Organisation.
And ensure that each agency has the funding to provide ongoing support for not only the children at risk, but the carers who pick up the pieces of their shattered lives.
Stop privatising it out to too many agencies.
One set of rules, one set of guidelines and easy to maintain codes of practices with states working together and interacting to provide the best care available.
Or is this too logical to expect from our Government?
The systems currently in place differ from state to state, and all are in dissaray.
Too many Children are slipping through the cracks and it is a national disgrace.
How many more vulnerable children does Australia have to loose before something gets done.
Doing the reforms on a state by state basis is welcomed but in all honesty, why not make the change sweeping across our nation?
