I am starting this campaign to bring to people's notice that on many social media platforms, my beloved Mother-Language, #Assamese is still not recognised as an official language. I come from a humble family background, yet I stand proud as a member of the great #Assamese community! We are a small community, hailing from the North East region of India, yet we have a unique and proud history, and we have always been an integral part of the great nation.

The change that I would like to see is a small but a significant one - it matters to me dearly!! Starting with Twitter, I humbly ask and pray that the Assamese Language be given the same recognition as English, Hindi, or any other language. I therefore, humbly request all Indian people and from the rest of the world, irrespective of their political affiliations, religious backgrounds, gender and social status, and especially to all my friends, brothers and sisters from the state of Assam, to get involved in this undertaking and to help make this change... I believe, deep in my heart, that we can all unite and agree on this matter, and work together to bring forth a change.
