Make Waves in Marble Falls: Our Kids Deserve an Aquatic Center
The Issue
My daughter is a passionate swimmer on the Marble Falls Current swim team. Swimming is more than just a sport for her—it is her passion and a pathway to lifelong health, discipline, teamwork, and personal growth.
However, our community faces a significant problem: Marble Falls does not currently have a year-round, regulation-size aquatic facility that can adequately support our local youth swimmers.
The YMCA of the Highland Lakes is currently the closest facility available to our swimmers, but it is located outside of Marble Falls and access to the pool during critical training periods may not always be available to our team. While the YMCA can be an important resource for our community, relying on a facility in another town with limited availability is not a sustainable long-term solution for a growing community and its young athletes.
Our children should have access to a quality aquatic facility right here in Marble Falls.
A dedicated aquatic center in Marble Falls would provide a permanent, sustainable resource for our current swim team and future generations of swimmers. It could serve not only competitive athletes, but also families, recreational swimmers, swim lessons, water safety programs, and the broader community.
Year-round access to an appropriate swimming facility would give our young athletes the opportunity to train consistently, develop their skills, prepare for competitions, and reach their full potential. Just as importantly, swimming teaches children discipline, commitment, teamwork, perseverance, and healthy lifelong habits.
Our community continues to grow, and our recreational and athletic facilities should grow with it. Marble Falls families deserve access to quality aquatic facilities within their own community.
This petition is intended to bring awareness to the City of Marble Falls and local community leaders about the need for a new aquatic center and to encourage meaningful discussion about how we can make that facility a reality.
We are asking the City of Marble Falls and community leaders to recognize the growing need for a year-round, regulation-size aquatic center in Marble Falls that can support our youth swimmers and serve the entire community for generations to come.
Our children already have the passion, dedication, and commitment. Now they need a place to train.
Please sign this petition to show your support for bringing a new aquatic center to Marble Falls, Texas. Together, we can help ensure that our children and future generations have the facilities they need to swim, compete, grow, and succeed.
