Make Triscuit Crackers Michigan’s “Unofficial State Snack”

Make Triscuit Crackers Michigan’s “Unofficial State Snack”

The Issue

Alaska and salmon, Florida and key lime pie, Idaho and potatoes. There’s no shortage of states known for their iconic foods. But, while Michigan is beloved for its recognizable shape, beautiful Great Lakes shoreline and Motown, there’s one accolade missing. Michigan doesn’t have a state snack.
Enter Triscuit Crackers, the feel-good staple that’s been in Michiganders’ (and Americans’) pantries for over a century. Michiganders love Triscuit Crackers; 81% of Michiganders crave a snack that’s crunchy or salty (just like Triscuit Crackers!) and one out of every three believes no cheeseboard is complete without Triscuit Crackers*.

So, what does Michigan have to do with Triscuit Crackers? Triscuit Crackers are made with white winter wheat that’s 100% grown and harvested by farmers in Michigan. In fact, for the past 15+ years Triscuit Brand has partnered with a farming collective of over 1,000 generational family farmers in the state of Michigan.

That’s why Triscuit Crackers is launching a national campaign to make our crackers the “Unofficial State Snack of Michigan.”

In addition, Triscuit Brand is going all-in on nourishing the Michigan farmers who nourish them through a $100,000 donation to further our relationship with Michigan State University’s agricultural program, helping educate future farmers of America.

Topped with a winning combo of cheese, fruit or charcuterie, or savored straight out of the box, Triscuit Crackers are the foundation that a wholesome snack is built on. Triscuit Crackers already have a home in Michigan’s pantries, plates, hearts and fields. It’s time to make this relationship (un)official ;)

* Methodology: Weber Shandwick and Triscuit Crackers commissioned Atomik Research to conduct an online survey of 1,004 Michigan residents. For the state representative sample of 1,004 adult Michiganders, researchers implemented quotas to achieve similar representation according to the U.S. census’ most recent age group data regarding all adults residing in Michigan. The margin of error for each of the three individual samples is +/-3 percentage points with a confidence level of 95 percent. Fieldwork took place between August 22 and August 25, 2023.
