Locals and foreigners alike experience frustration every day at the intersection of N Cass & Chicago/Naperville. There are constantly back-ups from vehicles merging immediately after the light. Additionally, annoyance manifests as motorists, uncaring of those around them, overtake others mercilessly in their hurry to get ahead. Converting the right-hand lane on N Cass Avenue into a right turn only lane would mitigate this issue effectively. 

Establishing a right turn only lane has proven to promote road safety and traffic fluidity in many junctions around the globe. According to a study by the Federal Highway Administration, providing exclusive right turn lanes at intersections led to a significant decrease in accidents (1). This not only creates a safer environment for all road users, but also enhances the traffic flow and reduces unnecessary congestion.
