The city of Prairie Village has filed a lawsuit against the group behind the petitions trying to limit rezoning and remove elected officials from city government in order to PREVENT housing affordability and greater access to attainability.
The city files a suit naming Rex Sharp as a defendant. Rex is a leading member of the group and an attorney acting on their behalf.
Within the suit, the city argues that the petitions are legally invalid. The lawsuit states that county election attorneys warned the group that the petitions weren't legally valid BEFORE they started gathering signatures. They chose not to fix the legal problems before starting.
That means they misled citizens and tried to take away your rights knowing they weren't legally doing so.
The group remains committed to taking away your rights and telling you how to live. In a public filing, the group states their primary focus is to enforce ONE FAMILY PER SINGLE FAMILY HOME in the city. They want to restrict your rights and limit your personal decisions.
They're now focused on pushing for council candidates who are willing to serve their goals and take away your rights. We CANNOT let those who want to use their power to tell you how to live take charge.
