Prairie Village residents may have been misled into letting others tell residents how to live and who to live with.

In the past several months, a group led primarily by a small group of wealthy citizens has been circulating petitions to restructure the city government and limit local democracy.

The petitions include a proposed law to tell Prairie Village residents how they can live and who they can live with. This is discriminatory. Council will consider these petitions on Monday.

The petitions limit those who can live in a single-family house to one family. That means people who live with roommates, unmarried couples, nontraditional families, and others will be hurt and discriminated against.

They also propose prematurely removing from office city council representatives THAT CITIZENS LEGITIMATELY ELECTED who have stood up for residents' ability to choose how to live.

In addition to the petitions, this group worked to put candidates on the ballot for city council who would infringe upon your rights.

Write to the Prairie Village city council today and request that they block all petitions related to rezoning and restructuring the city. DO NOT LET OTHERS DECIDE WHAT IS AND IS NOT A FAMILY.
