Thank you to all who showed up in support of attainable and affordable housing at yesterday's council meeting. We are happy to report that NO affordable housing proposals have been removed from consideration. Because of the time, energy, and dedication of those who desire an inclusive and diverse future for our city, we remain on a path where we can preserve what is good about Prairie Village while also expanding what we can offer and to whom.
The motion last night resulted only in a shift in process whereby R1 zoning changes (single-family-home zones) will be reviewed directly by council, which has pledged to address the issue, rather than first going through the planning commission.
