Make the Ken-Caryl Simms/Chatfield Intersection Safer!

Make the Ken-Caryl Simms/Chatfield Intersection Safer!
The Issue
Many intersections and thoroughfares have been designed with only cars in mind. Pedestrians and cyclist are often an after thought, if at all. When there are close calls between drivers and cyclists it is a reminder of how thin the line of safety can be. But, tragically, sometimes these interactions become deadly, as we all heard about last Friday evening when a child lost his life (May, 14, 2021).
We need to push our elected officials and governmental agencies to make our routes safe for ALL. Instead of favoring the driver we should protect those most vulnerable in car accidents: pedestrians and cyclists.
In Ken Caryl we are in a unique situation where our roads, governing agency, and policing are all separate entities, not housed under the umbrella of one central government. This means that we encounter communication lapses, shifting of responsibility, and lack of continuity between entities.
Help us to show community support for safe pedestrian and cycling routes in our neighborhoods. We will be posting future information about how to take action and news updates as we strive to make our community safer.
Thank you for signing on with your support.
