The Issue
This isn’t a new request—it’s a call to honor the promise made three years ago to address this critical safety issue. We’re simply asking for the commitment to be upheld.
In 2022, a promise was made to ensure the safety of the intersection at Buford Highway and Dering Circle. Coming out to Buford Higway from Dering circle has been an issue and a traffic study was promised. Unfortunately, this promise has yet to be fulfilled, and the situation has become increasingly dangerous. During busy hours, this intersection has witnessed far too many accidents, putting countless lives and cars at risk.
The community is deeply concerned about the ongoing danger. Each day, residents, including children and the elderly, navigate this hazardous crossing, fearing for their safety. The frequency of accidents is alarming, and it is only a matter of time before a serious injury or fatality occurs.
We urge you to take immediate action to address this critical issue. Implementing safety measures such as traffic lights and pedestrian crossings could significantly reduce the risk of accidents. Additionally, increased signage and road markings would help to alert drivers and pedestrians to proceed with caution.
