The Issue

For more than six years, I have watched accident after accident unfold at the intersection of Armington Road and Route 21. Imagine this: you're driving along, trying to navigate this area that has become notorious for its hazardous conditions, and all you can think is, "Will I make it across safely today?"

Armington Road is a simple two-way stop, but don't let that fool you. The danger comes from the extremely limited visibility from one side of the intersection. Drivers attempting to cross or enter Route 21 are faced with a virtual blindfold — they simply cannot see traffic coming at them. Meanwhile, vehicles continue to barrel down Route 21 at high speeds, creating a perilous situation.

Every week there's another close call; every month seems to bring with it yet another collision, each one progressively more serious. It's clear that the current setup is not equipped to manage the volume and speed of traffic it contends with daily.

The statistics back up these personal observations. These are not just numbers; they represent real lives lost, families broken, and communities affected.

The tragedy here is not just in the accidents that have already happened but in those that can be prevented. There are concrete, actionable measures that can be taken. Installing traffic lights, adding clearer signage, or implementing four-way stops could drastically reduce the number of collisions and make driving safer for everyone.

We need change now before the next preventable tragedy strikes. Traffic safety experts agree that strategic modifications to traffic flow could save lives. If nothing is done, how many more lives must be taken or ruined for someone to act? We cannot wait any longer.

Join us in our call for immediate action by signing this petition. Your signature will demand that local authorities take the necessary steps to make Armington Road and Route 21 safer for all. Together, we can press for these changes and hopefully prevent the next accident from happening. Please sign and share this petition with your friends and family.
