On behalf of myself, John K. Callender of Southern Rock Cafe Magazine, and Singer/Songwriter Pete Berwick, we as well as the Outlaw Nation, music professionals and Music Media hold Spike TV accountable for their insensitivity in airing an episode of Bar Rescue featuring Chris Ferrell who was directly responsible for Wayne Mill's death need to be held accountable for their actions and all proceeds generated by the airing of the show be put into a Trust for both his widow and son. The trauma caused by the airing of this show is insurmountable in the wake of his death just a day prior to its airing. Spike TV had knowledge of his death and conveniently has said they forgot to pull it off the late night schedule.
We, the friends and family of murdered COUNTRY OUTLAW singer WAYNE MILLS, hereby insist that all revenues generated by the tasteless airing of the episode of BAR RESCUE which promoted the man who murdered him, be donated to Wayne's widow and six year-old boy. Wayne's family had asked that this episode not be aired, and it was, totally against their wishes.
This is despicable and incomprehensible. Whatever money this episode generated needs to be be donated to the family, not put toward the benefit of a television corporation that acted in an extremely insensitive and offensive manner. By going against a family's wishes and featuring this bar in its program the very following night after WAYNE MILLS was killed, and by the very same man whose bar was showcased on this show, is reprehensible, and the decent thing to do will be to donate the funds generated from this airing to the family. Anything less, including the lame and weak apology of "we forgot," is inexcusable.
