🚧 SHELTON NEW ROAD PETITION – WORKS UPDATE

We have some positive news to share following our ongoing road-safety campaign and petition.

Bollard installation works are now listed on Causeway one.network for Shelton New Road (B5045).

📅 Scheduled dates: 2–19 November 2026
📍 Location: Shelton New Road, around the Robert Knox Way and North Street area
🚧 Works: Installation of bollards
🚗 Traffic management: Some carriageway incursion
📋 Reference: GF00261913277-01
✅ Listing status: PAA Granted

These works appear to be linked to the temporary cycle-lane safety measures previously discussed with Highways, although we are awaiting confirmation of the exact bollard locations and whether they form part of those agreed measures.

This is an encouraging development, particularly following residents’ concerns about cycle-lane visibility and road safety.

We will continue to follow up on:

Speeding and the proposed feasibility study.
Red-light running and the involvement of Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership.
Road and cycle-lane markings.
Pedestrian and school safety.
The wider Shelton New Road junction and cycling improvements.
💜 Thank you to everyone who signed our petition, shared their experiences and continues to support improvements.

We also appreciate the ongoing involvement of our ward councillor and the Highways team.

We will keep residents updated as further information and confirmed works become available.

Safer roads for everyone.
