🚧🚲 ROAD SAFETY ACTION IS STARTING ON SHELTON NEW ROAD!
After continued campaigning and raising safety concerns with Highways, temporary cycle-lane bollard works are now scheduled to begin on Monday 26 October!
This is a positive step towards making Shelton New Road safer for everyone.
⚠️ IMPORTANT – THESE ARE TEMPORARY SAFETY MEASURES, NOT THE FINAL CYCLE-LANE SCHEME.
The bollards are intended to improve the visibility of the existing cycle lane and help protect road users while we await the design and implementation of the wider cycle-lane improvement scheme.
📅 Shelton New Road – Bollard installation
26 October – 16 November 2026
📅 North Street – Sign replacement
28–30 October 2026, at the junction with Shelton New Road.
Both works are listed as Granted on Causeway one.network, with some carriageway incursion expected.
This is progress, but our campaign doesn’t stop here. We’ll continue pushing for the permanent cycle-lane redesign, safer junctions, improved road markings and measures to tackle speeding.
