make shein change how they treat the earth and their workers.
The Issue
Shein's total greenhouse gas emissions reached roughly 26.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, that equals the annual energy use of roughly 3.5 million homes, or the yearly tailpipe emissions of about 5.7 million gas powered cars. not only is shein incredibly bad for the environment, they also treat there workers horribly. a worker said, "If there are 31 days in a month, I will work 31 days,". shein was also found making children work in some of there factories. shein workers usually work 10 to 12 hours a day, there are only so man hours they can use to live a normal human life. shein also pays its workers by peice, but each peice is so cheap that they usually get paid less than a us dollar, and even though they work almost all day, they usually only make up to 10000 yuan a month, only if they are working overtime. imagine that being you. so think, would you rather go thrifting and not hurt people, or be so lazy that you need to shop from stores like shein, zara, and other fast fashion companies that hurt there workers and your environment like how i described?
