The Issue

We need to officially make September 25th Dolly Parton Day because the world just feels a lot emptier without her. Following her tragic passing on August 25th, it’s clear that nobody deserves a permanent day of remembrance more than Dolly. She wasn't just a country music icon who wrote over 3,000 songs and hits like "Jolene"—she was an absolute force for good. From putting over 200 million books into the hands of kids through her Imagination Library to quietly pouring her own money into vaccine research, she spent her entire life lifting people up. Dolly was the rare person who could bring literally everyone together with her humor, humility, and pure kindness. Her nephew shared that she wanted to be laid to rest on “a bed of plush cotton” because after a lifetime of wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserved some rest. Please sign this petition to urge our leaders to formally establish this day so we can keep her beautiful spirit alive forever.
