Dear Supporters
On 8 May, NSW Minister for Agriculture Tara Moriarty joined in a motion in the State Parliament lauding the success of the Sydney Easter Show. Along with fellow Minister Penny Sharpe, Ms Moriarty called the Show an "incredible event" and a "fantastic showcase of agriculture".
Eight speakers in all supported the motion offering congratulations and praise for the organisers, and noting the importance of the Show in "exhibiting and promoting farming and regional life and rural culture to people in the city". The motion passed unanimously, with the warm agreement of Minister Moriarty, whose portfolio includes animal welfare.
No mention was made of the horse whose life was taken cruelly and unnecessarily in a pointless display of bravado, and in blatant disregard of that poor animal's welfare. That horse died terrified and in pain.
Speak up for the disregarded horse, and for all the animals tormented, injured and killed so that the rodeo "culture" can continue.
Please SIGN AND SHARE THIS PETITION. We must make the voice of the people heard in opposing the legalised animal abuse that constitutes rodeos.
Thank you for your support, and thanks to Animal Liberation NSW for the distressing photo above.
