Todays question out of curiosity: How far can endometriosis spread in your body?
Endometriosis most commonly affects the pelvis, but it can spread throughout the body and has been found in the lungs, diaphragm, bladder, bowel, and in very rare cases, even the brain and eye. This spread can occur through the lymphatic and vascular systems, or potentially through coelomic metaplasia (tissue transformation).
Common locations outside the uterus
Ovaries
Fallopian tubes
Peritoneum (the tissue lining the abdomen)
Bowel and appendix
Bladder
Less common but reported locations
Lungs
Diaphragm
Kidneys
Abdominal scars
Muscles (such as the gluteal muscles)
Very rare locations
Brain
Eye
Why do we have to wait for it to spread before we are listened to? Why can't we just ask to have a hysterectomy? We are taught "my body, my choice" yet as grown women we are shown, we DON'T have choice or control over our own bodies! We are treated as though we are OBLIGATED to bear children.

Thank you! Appreciate you!
