I think recess needs to be 20 minutes. Currently,  at Bales Intermediate School, recess is 15 minutes. People at the end of recess normally think that it was too short and if they could just have 5 more minutes to have fun. Parents complain that kids don’t get enough activity, and part of that is because of short recess. The other side might say that school does not have enough time. However, a lot of schools spend an average of 10 minutes each day when kids are just having free time on their computers. Would it really hurt the school if they took 5 minutes out of that 10 to promote physical activity for kids? I don’t think so.
