Make Quebec French Again

Make Quebec French Again
Le problème
Growing up in Quebec, I was surrounded by the rich melodies of the French language and the vibrant customs that define this unique region. French was not just a language; it was an integral part of who we were, a thread that connected us deeply to our history and heritage. The bustling streets were alive with French conversations, and our cultural events were celebrated with the spirit and joy that only French traditions could inspire. It was our identity and our pride.
However, in recent years, I have noticed a disheartening shift. The signs that once proudly displayed our French identity are increasingly replaced or accompanied by English. French schools that fostered our language and culture are now facing challenges. Statistics from recent studies show a decrease in the use of French as the primary language in Quebec homes and workplaces. According to a report by the Office québécois de la langue française, the proportion of Quebecers speaking primarily French at home has dropped to 82.3% in 2021, compared to 84.5% in 2011.
I urge the Quebec government, local authorities, and educational institutions to advance efforts in bolstering French language and culture, safeguarding our heritage for the generations to come. Let us unite in this mission to make Quebec a beacon of French heritage and culture.
Sign this petition and join me in taking a stand to preserve the French language and culture in Quebec. Together, we can carry on France's heritage with pride and integrity.
