For many young Kiwis getting around is hard with the cost of buses and trains being too much to pay when living in expensive homes.

Having to pay for transport can stop you from doing sports, going to after school activities, going to see friends, getting a job or even missing out on a school bus, and other things.

Those under 18 should not miss out on things because they simply can't afford the bus fare

Making public transport free for everyone under 18 will help provide young kiwis with more freedom and responsibility by giving them the choice to use public transport. It will also give more kiwis the chance to use alternative transport therefore cutting down on carbon emissions. Many places such as Tallinn, Estonia have already made public transport free for under aged and new zealand should follow suit.

Every young kiwi should have the freedom and choice to travel and participate in activities without having to worry about bus fares. They should have the freedom to travel, learn, play sport, see friends and many more things.
