Growing up, I got to play Prodigy Math, a game that made learning math fun. It was a great part of my childhood, & I think about it to this day. However, seeing the game become so much more of a cash grab made me want something to change, & that's why I made this petition.

Prodigy was once a free math learning game. Sadly, the game has become more & more monetized, needing real money for kids to progress in the game, defeating the whole purpose of the game. Learning math, by making it fun. Let me give some examples of Prodigy before, & Prodigy now: Game progression, & member perks, Before, anyone could progress through the game, & finish storylines, with the only thing memberships providing are a fluffy cloud you have (which didn't affect gameplay) & some special items from monthly member crates, & the items inside were never better than items anyone could get, mostly just being something flashy. Now however, certain parts of the storyline are blocked, because of barriers where the player needs to collect a certain number of pets to battle an NPC & then move on. This might not seem like a big deal, except for the fact that rescuing pets requires something called magicoin, which I'll get to later. Member perks in the modern day are extremely unfair. To Prodigy Math's developers and stakeholders, we urge you to consider making the game more accessible by offering a substantial free version that doesn't restrict progress through in-game purchases. Enhancing the free version with enjoyable educational content will uphold the game's original mission—to make learning math fun and accessible for every child.
