We believe that it is time to make a change in the way practice groups are organized. Currently, swimmers are grouped by age, which can lead to frustration and discouragement for those who may not be at the same skill level as their peers.

Research has shown that grouping swimmers by skill level rather than age leads to better performance and increased motivation. According to a study published in the Journal of Sports Sciences, swimmers who were grouped by ability showed greater improvement in their times compared to those who were grouped solely by age.

Furthermore, grouping swimmers by skill level allows for more individualized instruction and training. Coaches can tailor practices to meet the specific needs of each group, leading to more efficient use of practice time and better results overall.

We understand that change can be difficult, but we believe that this adjustment will ultimately benefit all members of the Friendswood Area Swim Team. We urge you to consider implementing this new system as soon as possible.
