Growing up, I've faced the harsh realities of financial struggle. There have been numerous instances where, despite the essential need, I simply couldn't afford a pad or tampon. It's a situation no individual should ever find themselves in, yet many do on a daily basis. The inability to purchase these critical items not only undermines the dignity of those affected but also poses serious health risks.

In the same vein, countless young teens, eager to make responsible choices about their sexual health, find themselves without access to condoms due to prohibitive costs. It's a harsh and unfair reality that the ability to engage in safe sex, a fundamental right and necessity for preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unwanted pregnancies, is limited by financial means.

We can change this. Providing free access to period products and condoms through schools, colleges, and community centers would dramatically reduce these difficulties. This move would ensure menstrual equity and support safe sex practices among youth, giving everyone the opportunity to make healthy choices without financial impediments.

Financial struggles shouldn't dictate one's right to dignity, health, and safe choices. Many countries already recognize this need and have implemented similar programs successfully, showing us that such a change is both feasible and impactful.
