The intersection of Elm St. / Central St. / Main St. in Andover, MA is fundamentally unsafe for pedestrians. As a first step towards fixing the Elm Square intersection, we call on the Town of Andover, Town Manager Andrew Flanagan, the Andover Police Department, and DPW to implement two changes to improve pedestrian safety at Elm Square NOW:

1. Install "No Turn On Red" signs on both Main St. approaches
2. Implement an "Exclusive Pedestrian Phase", whereby all vehicular traffic has red lights while all pedestrian crossing lights are active.

To date, when asked to make these changes, the Town has rejected them and prioritized minimizing driver delay over pedestrian safety.

Let's tell the Town that someone's life is worth an extra 15 seconds at a red light.
