Parken: Should be the home of Denmark’s Men and Women Football Teams

This week, the head of Danish Football Federeation (DBU) publicly rejected claims that the Danish women’s national team will have Parken Stadium as their main stadium in Denmark. (Reported by TV2, DR, Dagbladet, etc.)

Yet DBU itself has said:

““We are in the middle of a very positive development for football for girls and women globally. Denmark should of course also be a part of that development. We want more girls and women to be able to see themselves on the biggest stages and dream big.”
— Erik Brøgger Rasmussen, Head of DBU (Danish National Football Federation)

Parken Stadium is the largest stadium in Denmark, a national landmark and symbol of pride, located in Copenhagen. In 2024, FC Copenhagen Men's football Team, the Men’s national football team, and three major music acts held events at Parken — yet out of all these events, no women played football there, and only one woman performed, P!NK.

Denmark has long been a global leader in gender equality (World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report), yet the absence of our Women’s National Team from our national stadium does not reflect this value.

It is undeniable: if Denmark truly wants to enhance and grow women’s football, as DBU repeatedly says it does, then the women’s national team deserves the same stage, the same visibility, and the same recognition as the men. Parken should be a home for BOTH the men’s and women’s teams.

Currently, Denmark’s Women’s National Team has no permanent home stadium, playing matches in Odense, Herning, Viborg, and other venues. They deserve a national stage — a stadium where every Dane can come together to celebrate their talent, passion, and achievements.

The solution is clear: designate Parken Stadium as the home ground for both the Men’s and Women’s National Football Teams. This change would not only empower female footballers today but also inspire generations to come, showing that Denmark values equality and acts on it.

We call on DBU and Parken Sport & Entertainment to make Parken Stadium the official home of Denmark’s Women’s National Football Team, giving them the respect, visibility, and recognition they have earned.

Let’s make history. Let’s give the women’s team the home they deserve.

Goal: 100,000 signatures to make Parken a stadium for all national teams — men and women alike.
