Founder Christopher Cutler recently shared The Heather Cutler Foundation’s story with SaltWire, and we’re grateful to see it published today. In the article, Christopher opens up about his experience advocating for his mother, Heather, during her battle with pancreatic cancer, and how witnessing gaps in care led him to establish the foundation.
“I’m so thankful people are paying attention to my mom’s story. Seeing her challenges firsthand made me realize the need for more accessible, informed care options for pancreatic cancer patients. We shouldn’t have had to push so hard for treatments that other patients are receiving in other parts of the country,” Christopher said.
Since its founding, The Heather Cutler Foundation has raised over $14,000 for pancreatic cancer research, secured more than 800 signatures for a petition on cancer care reform, and joined the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (WPCC). Through this coalition, we’re now connected with some of the world’s leading organizations advocating for pancreatic cancer awareness, best practices, and education.
Christopher’s goal is to make sure no family has to navigate cancer care alone or feel uninformed about their options. The foundation offers resources, educational materials, and advocacy support to help families find their voice in the healthcare system.
We’re honored to continue sharing Heather’s story and grateful for the support and attention her legacy is receiving. Check out the SaltWire article for a closer look at our journey and our vision for a better path forward in pancreatic cancer care.
