The Issue

Oxford Street (BS2) could be a vibrant, people-friendly high street at the heart of the Temple Quarter - but we need your support.

Local independent traders on Oxford Street - Forest Bakery, Full Court Press, Little Martha Brewing, The Pasty Emporium, and Unwin’s Brewery - are working together with the Bristol Business Improvement District and The Urbanists to make it happen.

What we’re asking for
• Recognition of Oxford Street as a local high street
• Safer, people-first street design with space for outdoor seating and trading
• Renovation of the remaining railway arches

Why it matters
• Support small independent businesses
• Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
• Help reduce anti-social behaviour by encouraging a busy and positive street
• Provide a true local high street for the growing Temple Quarter community

The vision
A lively street with outdoor seating, greenery, and thriving independent businesses—a place to meet, eat, and spend time.

We propose that Oxford Street is made one-way in order to reduce traffic but still maintain access for local workers and residents, but dramatically increase the seating and leisure space available.

Please sign the petition and help improve the future of Oxford Street.
