Almost 900 school districts in 26 states have switched to a four day school week, and I think North Thurston should too. This switch would be very beneficial for schools, teachers, as well as students. I believe it would help with the teacher shortage by raising teachers morale. It would do this by giving them extra time to plan lessons, grade assignments, and attend professional development opportunities. It would also boost student attendance because they would have more time to rest and engage in extracurricular activities. Another benefit of using the schedule is that it would save money on utilities, transportation, and custodial services for schools using it. Don't worry about children missing out on education, since the school days would be extended by roughly 30 minutes. I think many students, teachers, and schools would greatly appreciate adopting a four day school week.
