Make Newbery and Mark St Safer: Better Traffic and Event Management Now!

The issue

Protect Our Streets: Better Traffic & Event Management for Newbery & Mark St!

We, the residents of Newbery and Mark Streets in Newmarket, are calling for urgent action to address ongoing safety and disruption issues caused by traffic congestion and poor event management at Brisbane City Football Club (BCFC).

For too long, our community has endured:

Chaotic Traffic & Parking Woes - Match days bring gridlocked streets, blocked driveways, and unsafe conditions for our visitors, pedestrians and cyclists.

Irresponsible Alcohol Consumption & Littering - Patrons leave the club with drinks in hand, discarding bottles and cans in our front yards, parks, and footpaths.

Excessive Late-Night Noise - Post-game celebrations continue past midnight, vehicle speeding, disturbing families and disrupting sleep.

Lack of Action from BCFC Management - Despite repeated complaints, little has been done to improve traffic flow, enforce responsible alcohol service, or respect the surrounding community.

With over 700 members, BCFC is a thriving club, but its growth cannot come at the expense of local residents safety and quality of life.

We demand immediate solutions, including:

Traffic calming solutions

Proper traffic control and parking enforcement on game days.

Stricter alcohol management to prevent public drinking and littering.

Noise limits and responsible event management to respect residents.

Genuine engagement from BCFC to work with the community on lasting solutions.

We love having a vibrant sports club in our neighborhood, but not at the cost of our safety, peace, and well-being.

Its time for action. Sign this petition to urge Brisbane City Council, Cr Andrew Wines and BCFC to implement responsible traffic and event management before things get worse!
