The Issue

As a concerned student and a parent trying to navigate the demands of the academic year, I find myself grappling with two significant issues that affect students across the country. The first is the confusion caused by the inconsistent coverage of topics in term-1 examinations for class 9, particularly concerning ‘Ganita Manjari’ and ‘Social Science Part 1’. The second pressing issue is the delayed availability of NCERT textbooks, which puts unnecessary pressure on students and teachers alike.

In the current term-1 examinations for class 9, students are expected to cover all chapters of 'Ganita Manjari' and 'Social Science Part 1'. This approach has led to immense stress, as it demands covering an extensive syllabus in a very limited timeframe. It has become increasingly difficult for students to prepare thoroughly, affecting their performance adversely.

Furthermore, the textbooks for these subjects were provided very late in the academic year. This delay has left students scrambling to catch up, while also juggling their other academic responsibilities. Students should not be at a disadvantage because of logistical shortcomings that could be easily addressed with proper planning and execution.

The core of this issue points to a need for a more streamlined, consistent curriculum structure, along with timely distribution of educational materials. To this end, I propose that the NCERT and school authorities work together to ensure the timely release of class 10 textbooks for all subjects in the next academic year.

By taking action now and revising the systems in place, NCERT can significantly alleviate the academic burden on students, allowing them to perform to the best of their abilities without unnecessary stress. With proper planning, they should ensure that all textbooks are available well before the start of the academic year so that both students and teachers can prepare effectively.

Join me in urging NCERT and educational authorities to address these critical concerns. Let’s advocate for an educational system that is both effective and supportive for every student across our country.
