We, the residents of Montclair, have always been at the forefront of environmental initiatives. Our town is a living testament to this, being the first township to institute curbside recycling, the first National Wildlife Federation Certified Community Wildlife Habitat in the state, a designated Monarch City USA, and a pivotal member of the Pollinator Pathway. We have always prioritized our environment, and now, we find ourselves with another opportunity to uphold this valued tradition.

Our township now stands on the precipice of becoming a Bee City USA affiliate. Our aim is to continue to educate our local community about sustainable practices, particularly the crucial steps necessary to make our township more welcoming to native bees and other pollinators, both vital contributors to our environment's health and flourishing.

Becoming a Bee City USA affiliate will help reinforce our commitment towards environmental preservation, reestablish our legacy in statewide environmental leadership, and further empower us to maintain an environment harmonious with the life cycles of the bees and pollinators, vital for our ecosystem. Today, we urge the Council to pass the resolution, so Montclair can step forward on this essential journey towards environmental sustainability.
